The settlement resolves a class-action lawsuit, Beck, et al. v. University of San Francisco (the “Lawsuit”), which alleges that Defendant: (i) failed to pay overtime wages; (ii) failed to provide compliant rest breaks; (iii) failed to provide compliant meal breaks; (iv) failed to issue accurate itemized wage statements; and (v) failed to reimburse for necessary expenses.
On July 5, 2024, the San Francisco County Superior Court granted preliminary approval of this class action Settlement and ordered that all Class Members be notified of the Settlement. The Court has not made any determination of the validity of the claims in the Lawsuit. USF vigorously denies the claims in the Lawsuit and contends that it fully complied with all applicable laws.

Do Nothing and Receive a Payment | Class Members do not need to take any action to receive a settlement payment. |
Opt Out of the Settlement | Class Members who wish not to participate in the Settlement can exclude themselves via mail, email or fax, by submitting a written request to be excluded from the Class. Class Members will not receive a settlement payment. |
Object to the Settlement | Class Members can object to the Settlement by submitting an objection in writing via mail, email, or fax to the Administrator or appear at the Final Approval Hearing. |
